About eBikes

250-350W motors are great if you just want a little boost. They will help when going up hills, but you’ll still have to work a bit for it. This is a good range for folks who are going on more leisurely rides and want just a little bit extra help accelerating.

500W This is the point where the bike can put out as much or more power than the rider. Getting up hills with pedal assist is a breeze. Recommended for riders who live in hilly areas, going on longer rides, or want to accelerate very quickly. Easily maintain cruising speeds of 20mph.

750W If you want to push the throttle and get up a hill without pedaling, a 750W motor makes it possible (mind you, this will drain the battery faster, but it can be done). These bikes can go faster if configured for it (25-30mph). If you are looking for the bike to do more of the work, you want extra power for carrying cargo, or you want hills to be a non-issue this is the motor for you.

1000W+ To increase top speeds, you must increase the motor power. To get into the 30-40mph range, motors of 1000W or greater are used. In most of the USA, bikes of this type fall into a different class of vehicle—the max speed for something to be considered a “bicycle” is 28mph. These bigger motors are also very useful for big cargo bikes where the bikes & loads are heavier or off-road bikes, where the hills are steeper and the terrain more challenging.

Rear Hub Drive
Rear hub drive motors are part of your rear wheel, so the rear wheel is what’s giving you the boost. Typically the more economical option, hub drive motors have one “speed” of pedal assist. For the vast majority of riding, hub drive motors will provide more than enough torque to keep you smiling on your ride.

Mid-Drive
With a mid-drive motor, the bike frame is usually specifically designed to use that system, and the motor sits at the bikes bottom bracket, or where your pedal cranks spin. Mid-drive motors produce more torque at similar power levels to hub drive motors, so you find them more often on cargo bikes or mountain bikes.

  • Condition 0 — Adult supervision required, no traffic. This is used primarily for kids bikes.
  • Condition 1 — Suitable for road riding (only). Road bikes, hybrids, cruiser-type bikes that are meant to ride on paved surface and tires don’t leave the ground. TUOTEG CRZR bikes fit into this classification.
  • Condition 2 — Suitable for a variety of surfaces, from asphalt to gravel, where any sort of drop is less than 6”. TUOTEG CNQR, XPLR and CVRT bikes fit into this usage condition.
  • Condition 3 — For rough off-road riding and jumps less than 24 in. (61 cm.)
  • Condition 4 — For extreme off-road riding.

When you see “48V / 14Ah” or “36V / 10.4Ah” listed in a battery description, what the heck does that mean? In short, the bigger the number, the bigger the battery.

The first number is the voltage (V) of the battery. The second number is the amp-hour (Ah) rating.

Let’s start with the voltage (V). A larger voltage can provide more power (acceleration) or can increase your range, depending on how you use it, when compared to a smaller battery. Batteries with larger voltage are also physically bigger and heavier than smaller options.

Amp-hours (Ah) represent how much amperage a battery provides over a one-hour duration. When combined with your battery voltage, the amp-hours help to determine the range of your bike. The range can be found by multiplying the amp-hours by the voltage to reveal the Watt-Hours (Wh) your system provides.

TUOTEG CRZR, CNQR, CVRT and XPLR ebikes have 48V / 14Ah batteries. 48 x 14 = 672Wh.

In general, riders can expect 1 mile of range for every 20 watt-hours an ebike provides.”

Nope! As long as the bike doesn’t exceed a speed of 20 mph and has a motor size of 750 watts or less.

Before taking your e-bike out for a spin, you should make sure to check your state’s rules and regulations, as they vary by state. In Minnesota, you are allowed to ride an eBike on sidewalks and bike paths.

This is also an answer that varies! You will have to check what the minimum age is depending on which state you live in. In Minnesota, you have to be at least 15 years old in order to ride an eBike.

TUOTEG ebikes weigh between 58-70 lbs – eBikes are heavier than normal bikes! However, any additional weight added on to an electric bike is made up for in its electric assist, making it even easier to get up steep hills or ride for further distances than using a normal bike. The main reason weight would matter would be if you need to lift the bike.

The mechanical parts of an eBike are the same as a regular bike. These you can get repaired at any local bike shop! The electrical parts don’t require maintenance. After extensive use your bike may need a new battery, which is an easy part to buy and replace.

We get it. You’re a person with limited time on your hands, or maybe you just don’t feel mechanically inclined these days. In any case, if you’re feeling a bit wary of assembling a boxed bike yourself, you’re not alone! That’s why TUOTEG now offers professional assembly for all of our bike models—if you want to pick your bike up ready to ride, we can do that!

TUOTEG partners with hundreds of leading bicycle shops, scheduled with Beeline Connect software, to professionally assemble your new TUOTEG ebike. When you’ve selected your bike and begin the checkout process, you’ll have the option to select a bicycle shop for Professional Assembly.

When selecting Professional Assembly, you will see the guaranteed earliest date that your new TUOTEG ebike will be ready for pickup at the bicycle shop or the earliest drop off date for mobile delivery (where available). We will ship your new bicycle from our warehouse to the local bicycle shop, where a professional mechanic will assemble the bike for a $179.99 service charge.

  • The short answer is about 35-65 miles. BUT, there is a much, much longer answer…

There are a broad set of factors that may affect the functional range of an ebike battery. The type of tires, riding surface, the rider weight, topography, wind, and which pedal-assist level a rider is using can all influence the geographic range of the bike. But rest easy – if the battery runs out, the bike still works!

Tires – smooth, narrow tires offer less rolling resistance and are therefore more efficient than wider, knobby tires.

Surface – smooth asphalt will use less energy than rough gravel roads

Rider weight – as the overall weight of the bike and rider increase, the amount of power required by the motor increases, which uses more battery.

Topography and wind – the more hills the ebike needs to climb, the more time spent riding into the wind, the more energy will be expended

Temperature Extremes – sub-freezing temperatures can negatively affect the battery output as much as 20-40% as can really hot temperatures.

Any one of the above factors alone may not have significant impact on range individually, but combine any few together and they start to make a difference.

Pedal-assist level – the biggest contributor to battery life will be how much the pedal assist system is getting used. Level 1 will use the least amount of battery, while level 5 uses the most. Continuous use of the throttle will drain the battery much more rapidly.

TUOTEG CRZR, CNQR, CVRT and XPLR models all use a 48V / 14Ah battery.

Electric bikes can typically go up to 20mph.

Yes! You can ride an electric bike as a regular bike, especially if your battery runs out of power and you need to pedal the rest of the way home. The only thing to keep in mind is that eBikes are heavier than normal bikes.

No! Our eBikes have the option to use just the throttle, pedal and throttle together, or just pedal! So if you feel like just going for a cruise without having to pedal, you can certainly do so!

Your eBike is built to withstand the rain! You can also wash your bike if you’d like. The only thing we would ask is that you avoid power-washing your bike, and if you plan to transport your bike on the back of your car, to take out the battery just in case it rains. Rain hitting your bike at the speed of a moving car is different than you riding in the rain.

Yes! Our eBikes are built with a lock box that encompasses the battery. In order to take the battery out, you have to unlock it with the keys that are given to you.

Not at all! eBikes are actually almost completely silent. It isn’t like you are riding a loud motorcycle, that’s for sure!

Of course you can! On our bikes you have the option to pedal without any assistance. And even if you do have some assistance, you are still getting your workout in by riding to further distances!
